Guidelines for Bala Chaturdashi Celebrations at Pashupati Area

The Pashupati Area Development Fund announces the observance of Bala Chaturdashi festivities on the 24th and 25th of Mangsir 2080, in the holy Pashupati area, home to Lord Shri Pashupatinath. Devotees and pilgrims are invited to participate with reverence and are kindly requested to:

  • Respect the sanctity of the planted areas by the fund.
  • Refrain from using Shatabija in areas marked with stones.
  • Ensure that children carry identification at all times for safety.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Pashupati area as a collective responsibility.

Market and Shops Protocol:

  • Establish shops only in areas designated by the Pashupati Area Development Fund.
  • Abstain from selling or distributing meat and alcohol in public areas.
  • Avoid paying for places to light lamps or for sitting in tents unless officially sanctioned by the fund.

Seed Sowing and Lamp Lighting:

  • Seed sowing is permitted in Kailash Chaur, but setting up tents for lighting lamps is not allowed.
  • The fund provides free tent services for devotees along the Bagmati riverbank and other designated areas.
  • Those unable to light lamps personally may do so by paying a fee at the sales room by the Pashupati West Outer Gate.

Photography Restrictions:

  • Photography and videography are strictly prohibited in the main temple area of Lord Shri Pashupatinath.

Parking and Traffic Management:

  • Designated parking areas are available at Tilganga Chowr, Bankali Chowr, and Sifal Chowr.
  • Traffic regulations will be enforced by the Traffic Police Division for the fair's duration.

Emergency Assistance:

  • For any assistance, contact the Nepal Police at 100.
