Ganesh Chaturthi Festival:

The Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which is celebrated every year on the day of Bhadra Shukla Chaturthi, is being celebrated by worshiping Lord Ganesha, who has obtained the right to Agra Puja.

There is a classical belief that Lord Ganesha was born on the day of Bhadra Shukla Chaturthi in the Satya Yuga.

On this occasion, special worship was held at Ganesh temples across the country including Ashoka Vinayak, Chandra Vinayak, Suryavinayak, Kamal Vinayak, and Kamaladi to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha. That is why the worship of Ganesha should be done at home.

Ganesh, the son of Shiva Parvati, has the right to worship in any religious act.

Prof. Dr. Ram Chandra Gautam, Chairman of the Nepal Panchang Adjudicating Committee and theologian, informed that there is a classical belief of fasting for Ganesha today by fasting on a green leaf (Teej).

It is mentioned in the Ganesh Purana that Vratalu, who wished for a happy married life and peace on the day of Bhadra Shukla Tritiya, worships Ganesha on the day of Chaturthi.

According to theologian Gautam, there is a method of worshiping Ganesha in the morning and offering Aghrya in the afternoon to end the fast of Haritalika (Teej). On this occasion, some people even fast on Ganesh Chaturthi.

This day, also known as Mangal Chaturthi, is celebrated by the Newar community as the Chatha festival. On this day, it is customary to distribute 'Chusyamusya' to children.
