An international conference titled "Fewa Dialogue 2024" was organized jointly by Tribhuvan University and Sichuan University of China in the country's tourism capital, Pokhara, on December 19-20, 2024. The conference aimed to strengthen cooperation among South and Southeast Asian countries, transform interdependence into opportunities, promote economic prosperity and sustainable development, and enhance technological and developmental partnerships. It is expected that the first-ever Fewa Dialogue will significantly contribute to the country's economic and social development by collaborating with influential countries around the world.
The conference saw the participation of 30 experts from China, 20 from Nepal, 3 each from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, as well as experts from Bhutan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and other countries in the economic, social, and technical fields.
The conference was inaugurated by Honorable Former President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari. Notable attendees included Education, Science, and Technology Minister Vidya Bhattarai, TU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral, Dean Khadag KC, Registrar Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Rijal, former ministers Kamal Thapa, Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, distinguished politicians, former vice-chairpersons of the National Planning Commission Dr. Dipendra Bahadur Kshetri, Prof. Dr. Govinda Raj Pokharel, Dr. Bishwo Poudel, the Chinese ambassador to Nepal, former ambassadors, university professors, and other experts.
