British Council Organizes Sixth Educational Symposium in Nepal on Inclusive and Quality Teaching, Learning, and Evaluation System

The British Council recently organized the sixth educational symposium in Nepal with a focus on developing inclusiveness and quality in teaching, learning, and evaluation systems in the country. The conference had a special emphasis on Nepal's School Education Sector Plan, Nepal's Education Policy 2019, and four areas of inclusive and quality school education aligned with the needs and priorities of the 21st century education system.

The event featured group discussions and exchange of ideas on various topics such as professional development of teachers, inclusive education, creative education through art, and evaluation. The program was attended by government stakeholders, development partners, policy makers, planners, administrators, academics, researchers, and representatives of civil service organizations.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ram Prasad Subedi, said that the seminar's issues reflected the new school education sector plan that the ministry is currently developing. He expressed hope that practical methods would be included to successfully implement the plan.

The Nepal Country Director of the British Council, Shahida McDougall, stated that the annual education symposium supports the reform of the Nepalese government's education sector. The symposium brings together academics and policy makers to discuss the opportunities and challenges of the policy and its implementation.

Furthermore, a research report on the state of teacher education and development in Nepal was also released during the event. This report sheds light on the current state of teacher education in the country and provides insights into the areas that need improvement.

The British Council's sixth educational symposium in Nepal aimed to promote inclusive and quality teaching, learning, and evaluation systems. The event brought together key stakeholders to exchange ideas and discuss policy implementation, which will hopefully lead to significant improvements in the education sector of Nepal.
