Today is the important Atwari festival of the Tharu community. The province 5 government has decided to grant community public holidays in Dang, Banke, and Bardiya today in honor of the important festival of the Tharu community.
On the occasion of Atwari Festival, Chief Minister of Province 5 Shankar Pokharel wished happiness, peace, prosperity, and good health to all the Tharu community.
In his congratulatory message, the Chief Minister said that Nepal is a multilingual and multi-ethnic country. Festivals and cultures celebrated by different castes and communities have created an atmosphere of harmony, brotherhood, and harmony in the country. Community-specific cultural festivals and celebrations are now becoming commonplace. This feature of Nepali society is exemplary for others as well.
Stating that the constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal has paved the way for the upliftment and development of the Tharu community, Chief Minister Pokharel said in his message that he has shown respect to the Tharu community by constitutionally setting up a Tharu Commission. At present, the country is on the path of practical implementation of the constitution. As the constitution is being implemented, an environment has been created where all communities, classes, and castes can enjoy their rights in a practical way.
While focusing on the struggle against Covid-19, Chief Minister Pokharel said that the state was working sensitively for the health protection of the citizens by controlling the epidemic. COVID-19 can be won only by fully complying with the steps taken by the state for health security, said Chief Minister Pokharel. However, there is no atmosphere of joy in the festivals this year. After the victory in the struggle against COVID-19, it celebrates the coming years with joy and happiness.
