8th Tanahu Festival Scheduled from 2078 Poush 29 to Magh 10

The eighth Tanahu Festival, organized by the Tanahu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is scheduled to be held from the 29th of Poush. The festival, which has been postponed for two years by Corona, is about to take place this time. The festival will be held at BP Vanbatika in Vyas Municipality-3 from Poush 29 to Magha 10.

The association has organized a press conference on Friday and informed about the festival. Chairman of the association, Pavindra Kumar Shrestha, said that the festival is being held with the objective of studying and promoting economic, social development as well as local products, agriculture, religious, cultural, tourist sites, industry and trade.


The festival, which is targeted at 500,000 spectators, is expected to generate around Rs 60 million in financial transactions. The total income of the festival is estimated to be Rs. 8 million and profit Rs. 1.535 million.

Arrangements will be made for a water festival on the Madiseti river during the festival. Stating that there is a lot of potential for Jal Vihar in Damauli, the confluence of Seti and Madi, Jal Vihar has not been able to get widespread, said Chairman Shrestha.

In order to promote the historically and culturally prosperous rural settlements of the district which has a lot of potential for rural tourism, it is planned to take the visitors on a cultural model village tour. Arrangements have been made for the spectators to visit Manungkot, Kumaltari, Botegaun, Daraigaun and other villages to observe the festival.
