5th National Communication and Information Technology Day (ICT Day 2079): Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the broader dimension of the economy should be transformed by increasing service flow, production, and productivity through the use of information and communication technology.
Expressing best wishes on the occasion of the 5th National Communication and Information Technology Day, 2079 BS, he said that emphasis should be laid on knowledge-based society and digital literacy to improve the investment climate in the field of information technology.
In his congratulatory message, he urged all concerned in the field of technology to make the use of technology more reliable, secure, and accessible and provide simple, easy, accessible, and reliable service to the general public through electronic means. National Communication and Information Technology Day 2079 is being celebrated nationwide with the basic slogan of "Expansion of Quality and Safe Information Technology, Basis of Prosperous Nation Building".
Prime Minister Deuba said that with the increasing use of communication and information technology globally, radical changes have been taking place in the areas of state system operation, development management, public service, information flow, social interaction, and others. He mentioned in the message that the goal of sustainable development can be achieved by making proper use of information and communication technology in every field.
Stating that Digital Nepal Framework 2076 is in the process of implementation to maintain good governance by developing and expanding information and communication technology, he said that there is a need today to maintain quality and minimize the possible risks while increasing the use of technology.
Similarly, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that the government has given high priority to policy, legal, structural, and process formulation, modification, and improvement to managing information and communication technology.
Giving a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 5th National Communication and Information Technology Day, 2079 BS, he mentioned that work is underway to formulate a systematic and secure cyber security policy. Minister Karki said that the existing data centers and government cloud are being evaluated and reviewed and additional data centers are being set up.
