5th International Womens Trade Expo 2021

The 5th International Women's Trade Expo 2021 (Virtual Exhibition) has started. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated the fair on Wednesday.

The fair is organized by the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) to promote the internal market development and export of goods, agricultural products, and handicrafts produced in the province. Speaking at the inaugural session of the fair, Prime Minister Deuba said entrepreneurship and economic development were needed to revive the economy that had been weakened by the Corona epidemic.

"Such efforts will help Nepali products to participate in the global market in the event that the products cannot reach the market due to Kovid-19."

Deuba said that the country would soon move towards economic development with the cooperation of the government and the private sector. The basic commodities produced by women entrepreneurs will help in the overall development of the country. '

He said that the problem is being solved soon as the government is ensuring the corona vaccine to all the citizens as there is a problem in the marketing of the products produced by the epidemic. Speaking on the occasion, FWEAN President Rita Singh said the fair would help in advocacy, advocacy, network expansion, information flow, capacity building, and marketing for women's economic and social empowerment and transformation.

"The fair will take a new leap in the field of entrepreneurship development through the fair, even in the face of the challenges of market access faced by the needs and challenges of women entrepreneurs."

She said, "In the environment where the business run by women entrepreneurs is growing globally, the fair will prove to be true in the development of equity where Nepali women entrepreneurs can contribute to household income and national economy through enterprise business."

"I believe that the fair has developed into a modern platform, using women entrepreneurs as a common ground; "In the current situation, the fair is being organized as the daily life of the common man is being attracted towards the digital market and the fair will strengthen the marketing of goods produced from different parts of the country nationally and internationally," she said.

Likewise, FWEAN Second Vice President Shobha Gyawali said that a common venue has been created for the exhibition, promotion, marketing, and sale of goods and services through virtual media to encourage women entrepreneurs and promote the business of goods produced across the country in the international market. Stating that the morale of women entrepreneurs has been increased four times before by organizing the fair, she said that emphasis has been laid on women's participation and empowerment in all fields of economic development, poverty alleviation, social and economic issues of the nation through women entrepreneurship.

‘Since its inception, FWEAN has been emphasizing women’s capacity building and economic empowerment. Although a fair of international standard has been organized in the previous year to connect and coordinate from entrepreneurs to consumers, the current virtual fair has also encouraged women entrepreneurs towards online marketing, 'she said.

He said that the virtual medium has provided ample opportunities for women entrepreneurs to sell their products and also helped in building networks and exchanging skills and knowledge. She said that by creating an effective platform by combining new products, services, and technology, there has been an incentive to establish relationships and build networks between stakeholders and women entrepreneurs.

She is confident that the fair will be fruitful to continue the marketing of the products of women entrepreneurs displayed through the Women in Business e-portal and to solve the challenges and losses in the business.

Similarly, FWEAN First Vice President Ritu Rayamajhi said that it was time to focus on online marketing as a lesson learned from the epidemic.

He said that digital marketing has helped in expanding the domestic market and promoting the products produced by women entrepreneurs. Organizations like International Labor Organization, FCA, The Asia Foundation, International Labor Organization, UKAID, Visa Foundation, Women's Bank, etc. have assisted in organizing the fair. The fair has technical support from Dolpha Solutions and is organized by National Life Insurance, Jyoti Vikas Bank, Sanima Bank, Nepal College of Travel and Tourism Management, Srinagar Agro, Global IME Bank, Laxmi Intercontinental, Citizen Bank, Nimbus, Pashupati Food Industries, and Nepal. The five-day fair has stalls of handicraft items, natural fiber items from home and abroad, Dhaka and homemade items, handmade paper items, wood products, organic food, jewelry, decoration items, and various service providers. There are 80 stalls at the fair. Of them, there are stalls of 57 women entrepreneurs and stalls representing 30 district women entrepreneurs associations.
