2020 ASNEngr Conference Announcement & Call for Abstracts:

American Society of Nepalese Engineers (ASNEngr) cordially invites you to participate in the 2020 ASNEngr Conference (13th ASNEngr Annual Conference)
Conference Theme: “Creating resiliency and sustainability via Engineering & Technology Advancements”

Date: Dec 12-13, 2020

Location: Virtual via Zoom, Live Streaming

Abstracts Due Date: Oct 31, 2020

Engineers, scientists, students, professionals, and others from closely related disciplines will gather to discuss the recent need for resilient and sustainable developments in engineering, science, and technology and their impact on society. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the conference will be held virtually using zoom.

Paper presentations are anticipated to cover wide varieties of engineering, scientific and technology topics, including but not limited to the following:
• Leveraging engineering and technology to re-emerge into a better world
• Advances in infrastructure analysis, design, monitoring, and sustainability.
• Application of scientific/engineering technologies into practice (knowledge sharing)
• Natural Disaster preparedness and disaster relief in Nepal
• Engineering problems and solutions
• Information technology and its role in society
• Robust design and construction practices
• Recent advances in research and development in engineering and technology
• Sustainability, alternative/renewable energy, clean-technology
• Technology, youth, and innovation
• Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Cloud Technologies and their impact
• Weather, climate, water, ag and food systems and technologies
• Other engineering and scientific topics of interest

Abstract Submission:

Those who wish to present thew work at the conference must submit an abstract of about 250 -500 words (one page) through the online abstract submission portal by Oct 31, 2020 The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference Technical Committee to determine their suitability for presentation at the Conference The authors will be notified about the status of their abstract by Noy 15, 2020_ The best paper (abstracts) from both the student and professional categories will also be announced and awarded at the end of the conference Those accepted abstracts may be included in ASNEng Conference Proceedmm/Book of Abstracts_

All abstracts should be prepared according to the following format

(1) Provide 1” margin on all sides. (2) 1st line: Type the title of presentation/paper (Arial, 14-point font, bold and centered). (3) Leave one blank line below the presentation title and provide authors’ information - name, affiliation, city, state, country (use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and centered). (4) Leave one blank line below the last author’s information and type heading for the abstract as “ABSTRACT” (use Times New Roman, 12-point font, bold, underlined, and centered). (5) Leave a blank line below the abstract heading and provide the abstract text of 250 -
500 words on the rest of the page (use single space, Times New Roman, not less than 10-point font, align text to the left and right margins). The abstract may include representative figures and results. (6) Provide a footnote with each author’s job title, affiliation, complete address, phone
number, e-mail address, and ASNEngr membership grade, if any. Limit abstract to 1 page.

Conference Proceedings:

All the accepted abstracts will be compiled m the form of a conference proceedings/book of abstracts and will be posted on the ASNEngr webs. For reference, plume see the proceedings of the previous years' conferences available at the Annual Conferences and Meeting page

Sunday, Dec 13, 2020

  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Technical Sessions III & IV: Technical Presentations / Panel Discussions
  • 12:00 PM: Conference Closure

All conference attendees are required to register. Registration is free and can be done online via the conference registration portal which will be available on the conference page
