15th National Conference of the Nepal Bar Association to be Organised in Pokhara:
The 15th National Conference of the Nepal Bar Association, an umbrella organization of legal practitioners, is to be held in Pokhara. The conference is scheduled to be held in Pokhara from 14 to 16 Jestha, 2078 BS. The conference is held every three years. The conference is scheduled to be inaugurated by President Vidyadevi Bhandari.
About 4,000 legal practitioners including representatives of 89 bar units of Nepal Bar will participate in the event, said Surendra Thapa Magar, Central Vice President of the Bar.
According to him, the conference will pass national and international resolutions. Similarly, the conference will pass various working papers to propose a fair, independent, and fearless judiciary.
Discussions will also be held on how to make the legal profession self-reliant, professional, efficient, dignified, and credible, and how to protect the judiciary from attacks by constitutional institutions inside and outside the independent judiciary.
Earlier, the 14th conference was held in Nepalgunj in 2074 BS.
Conference Pokhara has been decided for the overall tourism promotion of Pokhara without being attacked by Kovid-19. Vice President Thapa Magar says that it is a matter of pride for Pokhara to have a conference here.
The main organizing committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Bar Chairman Chandeshwor Shrestha to make the conference a success. The committee will consist of the former chairman of the bar, secretary-general, high court, and district court bar members.
