Overview
Despite the educational programs running now, new educational programs and subjects in accordance with the demands of local community and students compatible with the need of time are yet to be introduced. Sahara Campus offers Management (BBS) Bachelor in Business Studies. To acquire this degree a student has to pass fifteen courses including field report offered by the campus in four academic years. Tribhuvan University has revised and updated the existing courses taught since 2013. The Bachelor courses also build upon the advanced level courses at the Master of Business Studies (MBS) being introduced in 2013.
The BBS courses in Business Studies are divided into four parts: Part I for the First Year, Part II for the Second Year, Part III for the Third Year, Part v for the Four Year. There are fifteen courses, each carrying 100 marks.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
The candidate applying for admission to the BBS programme:
- Must have successfully completed the PCL or 10+2 in business/commerce or an equivalent course from a Higher Secondary School Board, or from Tribhuvan University, or from any other University/Board recognized by TU.
- Must have studied English as a full paper at the PC level or 10+2 programme.
- Must have secured the minimum marks at the PC level or 10+2 programme as prescribed by the Faculty Board or the campus concerned.
- Must satisfy any other entry requirements or criteria including the entrance test as prescribed by the Faculty Board or the campus
IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM:
This program is designed to provide short-term training to the government and non-government employees working in related areas such as:
- Basic concepts and principles of Management and Business Plan,
- Basic tools and techniques of demographic data collection and analysis, and
- Economic policy issues.
RESEARCH/SEMINAR:
This program is designed to institutionalize research activities in the Campus and to organize national or international seminars. At present, Sahara Campus, Surkhet has adequate computer facilities and a library containing more than 10,000 books and professional journals. It anticipates further growth of library facilities.
FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:
This program is designed to develop professional skills of the faculty members and to establish linkage with other national and international institutions. Under this program, depending upon available funds, faculty members may go abroad for
- Short-term training,
- Higher study leading to another MA or a PhD,
- Establishing linkage with international institutions, and
- Presenting seminar papers.
