Program Overview
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Health Education is a research-based postgraduate degree designed to motivate graduates to engage in quality research, expanding their theoretical understanding and preparing them for further studies leading to a PhD. This program ensures that graduates are well-equipped for potential careers in educational studies, aligned with both global contexts and local requirements.
Target Groups
The MPhil Program in Health Education is primarily targeted at working individuals who are unable to join the conventional face-to-face education system but wish to pursue advanced-level courses under the umbrella of Educational Studies.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the MPhil program, graduates will be able to:
- Exhibit a deeper understanding of theoretical, factual, conceptual, and philosophical aspects of health education.
- Utilize and apply research tools (quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed approaches) in sociological research/inquiry.
- Adapt theories and tools flexibly and apply them to new fields of research.
- Prepare write-ups for peer-reviewed international research journals.
- Conduct research and solve complex problems independently.
- Advance the disciplinary boundary by making new and significant contributions to the existing state of knowledge.
Eligibility
Candidates with an MEd, Master in Pedagogical Sciences, or Master in Educational Studies with a second division or CGPA of 2.7 are eligible. Candidates with a Master’s degree in other disciplines with a second division or CGPA of 2.7 must take an additional three-credit introductory course.
Admission Criteria
Entrance Examination Syllabus and Question Pattern:
- Full Marks: 50
- Time: 90 Minutes
- Syllabus: Research Methodology in Master’s or equivalent Degree
Question Types:
- Multiple Choice Questions: 20 Marks
- Short Answer Questions: 10 Marks
- Long-Answer Questions: 20 Marks
- Medium: English
Job Prospects
Upon successful completion, the program provides candidates with a foundation for holding positions in academic and administrative organizations and conducting research in educational sectors. Research skills acquired from this program are applicable in development agencies, private organizations, non-governmental and governmental organizations, and higher education institutes.
