Overview
Community Medicine Assistant is a course designed to produce competent health workers equipped with knowledge, skill and attitudes. It focuses on the basic preventive medical works in the communities so as to contribute in the national stream line of reduction of the health problems in the country.
Program summary: Anatomy & Physiology, Basic medicine, Basic surgery & First aid, Pharmacy & Pharmacology, Health management, MCH/FP/ Nutrition, Epidemiology & communicable diseases, Health post lab Technique.
Eligibility: S.L.C. / SEE with minimum second division (45%).
Program Outcomes: The trained candidate will develop the skill and knowledge required for basic level health worker. They will be able to treat, refer basic surgical and first aid problems, treat and refer for basic medical problems etc.
Career Prospects and Development: The basic health workers are appointed as AHW by ministry of health, NGOs and INGOs to provide health in the peripheral level.
