The Professional Bachelor of Education (P.B.Ed.) program at Kailali Multiple Campus, affiliated with Far Western University (FWU), offers a blended mode (combining online learning with in-person sessions) to make teacher education more accessible, especially in remote areas of Nepal.
This flexible approach allows individuals to pursue a professional degree conveniently while continuing their work or studies.
The program includes theoretical and practical coursework throughout the academic years, equipping future teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills for the teaching profession. Its main objective is to develop competent teachers for school-level education.
The P.B.Ed. program is structured into two semesters. It is designed for those currently working as school teachers, aspiring educators, or individuals with a bachelor's or master's degree in non-education fields seeking to broaden their educational career opportunities. This course is specifically designed for individuals who already possess theoretical knowledge in a specialized subject and wish to enter the teaching profession or education sector.
It combines both teaching skills and an academic degree, preparing student teachers for the challenges of modern education. The program's ultimate goal is to foster strong educational leadership in teachers, ensuring they are equipped with teaching skills and the ability to lead effectively within academic settings.
The program includes various teaching methods, including group and individual interactions, self-directed learning materials, and information technology. It also allows student teachers to enhance their teaching skills through simulated and real classroom experiences.
Admission Criteria Far Western University's Faculty of Education offers admission to the Professional B.Ed. Program through an entrance exam coordinated with the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Education, at the respective campus or department.
The Prospective applicants must have a minimum of 40% marks or a C+ grade in their bachelor's degree in an equivalent subject from a recognized university. Additionally, students with a bachelor's degree in fields other than language, mathematics, science, and ICT are also eligible, provided they meet the same minimum grade requirements.
Required Documents:
- Copy of a recent PP-size photograph with both ears visible - 1 copy.
- A copy of the SLC/SEE or equivalent pass mark sheet (photocopy) should be one copy.
- Copy of SLC/SEE character certificate (photocopy) - 1 copy.
- Copy of +2 level transcript certificate (photocopy) - 1 copy.
- Copy of 10+2 level provisional certificate (photocopy) - 1 copy.
- Copy of 10+2 level character certificate (photocopy) - 1 copy.
- Original copy of +2 level migration certificate for students studying at the undergraduate level. In the case of Graduate Level (master), Bachelor level certificates are required.
- An equivalent certificate for students from foreign educational institutions or other boards is mandatory.
Note:
• In the case of students who have passed from a foreign educational institution or board, an additional Rs. 500/-
• The student's name, surname, date of birth, father's name, and other details should be the same on all the certificates from beginning to end.
