Established in 1991 as the "Technical Instructors Training Institute," TITI was founded in Nepal with support from the Swiss Government and Swisscontact, the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation.

History of TITI:
- Established in 1991 as the 'Technical Instructors Training Institute' with support from the Swiss Government and Swisscontact.
- Originally a Nepali National Institute, TITI aimed to address the training needs of technical, managerial, and curriculum development personnel in the TEVT sector.
- Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC) through Swisscontact, the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation, played a significant role in its establishment.
- TITI's programs and services are mandated by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
