Overview
Thapathali Campus - Institute of Engineering: The Technical Training Institute Project was established in 2019 BS with the support of the German government with the main objective of producing skilled manpower in the middle-level engineering sector for the development of the country. In the technical training institute established in Thapathali, Kathmandu, those who have passed class 10 in the year 2022-2024 BS were admitted and given training in electrical, mechanical, and automobile engineering programs for a period of 3 years.
Those who passed SLC in electrical, mechanical, and automobile engineering subjects from 2023 BS were admitted. The three-year course of the Architecture Drafting program was also conducted once. From 2023 to 2030 BS, a three-year regular program was conducted as mentioned above. In addition to this, in the years 2027, 2029, 2030, and 2031 BS, those who passed the tenth grade were admitted and trained for two years. This institute is operating under the name of Thapathali Campus under Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering Studies since 2029.
Since the electrical engineering program was started at Pulchok Campus Pulchok, the three-year diploma courses were discontinued on this campus after the 2033 BS. From the year 2031 to 2042 BS the above-mentioned regular three-year course was made into 2 years. After that, since 2043 BS, three-year diploma-level programs in mechanical and automobile programs have been running continuously on this campus. Pulchok Campus The architecture and civil programs conducted at Pulchok were shifted to the Thapathali campus from 2054 and 2055 BS respectively.
Since 2057 BS, diploma-level full-fee programs were conducted in civil engineering and architecture programs. Also, since 2059, a regular and full-fee program of diploma level was conducted in Computer Engineering and Electronics Engineering. BE (Bachelor's Degree) Industrial Engineering program was conducted on this campus in 2062 BS.
From the year 2066 BS, BE Civil Engineering and from the year 2067 BS Computer Diploma program has been upgraded to BE Electronics and Communication program. The BE Mechanical Engineering program has also been in operation since 2068 BS. In order to upgrade diploma programs, the electronics diploma was discontinued in 2068 BS, while the diploma level of architecture and civil engineering programs was also discontinued in 2069 BS.
Since the year 2071 BS, the architecture subject program has been taught at the undergraduate level. Computer engineering and automobile engineering graduate-level programs are also in operation since 2075 BS. On this campus, study and teaching work is being done in 3 different disciplines at the post-graduate level.
