Terhathum Multiple Campus is one of Tribhuvan University's constituent campuses. It is located at Chuhandada Aathrai, Tehrathum. Established in 2017 BS, the Campus currently has 233 students in the humanities, education, and management faculties. Twenty teachers and nine administrative staff run it. For the first time, this Campus has successfully run non-credit courses under the Entrepreneurship Support Program, 40-hour Entrepreneurship Development Program, 45-hour Computer Basic, and 90-hour Computer Advanced courses, with the support of the University Grants Commission.
Terhathum Campus is the only government-recognized Campus in the far eastern region of Nepal, in four Districts (Terhathum, Taplejung, Panchathar, and Sangkhuwasava).
Terhathum Multiple Campus lies in the Terhathum district within the hilly area of Koshi Zone. The Aathrai Zone, where the Campus lies, is a specific educational, political, cultural, and historical development area. Terhathum Multiple Campus was established on 2017-02-21 as the name of Birendra Inter College. It got a permanent acceptance letter on 2018-06-03 BS. Later, in 2035, the Campus changed its name to Terhathum Campus.
TMC Terhathum is committed to offering quality education and providing a supportive learning environment in the center of Tehrathum.
The TMC provides various scholarships and freeship programs to assist students financially, promote equal educational access, and foster an inclusive learning environment.
TMC is about 500 m from the newly built Puspalal Lok Marga. The Campus is in the middle of the Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, and Terhathum districts, known as the Limbuwan Region. This means most of the people who live here are members of the Limbu community. Although there is ethnic and cultural diversity, there is also cultural and social harmony. The people's economic condition is mostly poor, and some are middle class. Their earnings are mostly related to agricultural products.
This Campus has two faculties- Education and Humanities and Social Sciences. Three Years and One Year B.Ed are run under the Education Faculty on English Education, Nepali Education, Mathematics Education, Population Education, and Health and Physical Education as specialization subjects. Seven major subjects are under the Humanities faculty- English, Nepali, Mathematics, Population, Political Science, Economics, and History.
