Overview
Sukuna Multiple Campus (SMC) was established in 2048 B.S. (1992 AD) and located in Koshiharaincha Municipality, in the Mid-Morang. It is a community based public academic institution. It aims at providing Higher Education at an affordable means with all and special privileges for the promising students. Initially, the college took its birth in Sukuna School. Using the physical facilities of the school and the existing manpower of neighboring schools and colleges, the campus started to grow and develop at an expected speed. At present, the campus has its own physical infrastructures for running academic programs.
Currently, it possesses four bighs land with enough physical space where there are three storied two RCC teaching buildings with comfortable rooms to study for the students, and two storied administrative building along with library attachment. Additionally, the campus consists of a ‘Free Student Union (FSU) Building’, a Saraswati Temple, A Pillar of Memmorial and a canteen within its bounded walls.
The educational programs run in this college are affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal. It has been providing higher education for promising students through four different streams, viz. Humanities, Education (four years and one year), and Management and Science belonging to the University. At Master’s level (post-graduate level) classes are run in two faculties: Faculty of Education and Faculty of Management. Under the faculty of education, students can have seven different specializing subject areas to choose. The selection of the specialization subjects are exclusively based on the criteria set by the affiliation providing university (TU).
In addition to them, the campus has run the classes of grade 11 and 12 having affiliated to Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), Nepal in four different streams: Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management, and Science. However, the management aspect of the HSEB affiliated programs is separated from the management of the university affiliated programs at present. From the point of view of human resources; the campus has 96 qualified, experienced, trained, and efficient teachers and over 15 non- teaching staff.
In terms of the time scheduled, the classes of Bachelor’s level are run in the morning shift. All the HSEB affiliated programs run during the day. The classes of all post-graduate levels start late afternoon and end in the late evening. But, the classes of + 2 science starts in the morning and extends till noon.
The most enthusiastic aspect for us is that it has been awarded Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) certificate on 12 August, 2015 as per maintaining the quality standards set by the University Grants Commission, Nepal. It is, perhaps, one of the most significant achievements earned in the life of the campus itself. At present, the quality enhancement process of the campus is being strengthened in collaboration with the UGC after the MOU held between them for going hand in hand for Higher Education Reform Project (HERP).
