Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a comprehensive program focused on Ayurvedic education and practice. Spanning five and a half years, including a one-year rotating internship, the course integrates traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern medical science. It is equivalent to an MBBS and prepares students for further studies such as MD, MS, or PhD.
The curriculum, approved by Tribhuvan University (TU), the Nepal Ayurvedic Medical Council, and India's ICCM, covers subjects like human anatomy, physiology, pharmacognosy, internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics.
Eligibility for the program includes a background in science with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and a minimum of 50% marks or a 2.4 GPA. Students from A-level or equivalent programs must provide an equivalence letter. Those with a Diploma in Ayurveda or Health Sciences are also eligible, provided they meet the criteria.
