The journey of Kadambari Memorial College is deeply embedded in Nepal's social and political milieu. The foundation of the college came about in 2005, during a crucial period in Nepal's history marked by a decade-long conflict that ended that year.

The aftermath of the conflict left Nepal grappling with issues like single-parent families, orphans, abandoned elders, and traumatized families. This led to a desperate need for professional social workers.

Recognizing this, a group of enthusiastic scholars formed Kadambari Memorial College, with a vision to offer university-level Social Work programs.

The founding team, including Dr. Bala Raju Nikku, Dr. Pranita Bhushan Udas, Ms. Pradipta Kadambari, Mr. Sanjay Kadambari, Late Ms. Komal Magarati, Mr. Joyson Josh and Prof Mahendra Narayan Mishra, submitted a proposal to Purbanchal University to develop Bachelor's and Master's programs in Social Work.
