Human Resource Development and Research Institute (Hurdri)
Established in 1996 and located in the heart of Babarmal, Kathmandu, the Human Resource Development and Research Institute (Hurdri) is a renowned institution, praised nationwide for its quality interdisciplinary education. As an affiliate of the Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training (CTEVT), Hurdri is geared towards providing top-tier lower-level health manpower training.
Managed by seasoned professionals, Hurdri is backed by a wealth of expertise from individuals who have built their careers around the organization and implementation of various curricula across numerous institutes in Nepal.

Our Mission

Our Objectives
- Provide basic training for Lab Assistants.
- Offer quality education in PCL in General Medicine, Nursing, and Lab Technician courses.
- Conduct various types of professional training programs.
- Initiate and conduct different types of research aimed at strengthening the national healthcare delivery system.
- Enhance the community's health status through the implementation of community health services and community development programs.
- Develop and publish health education materials, including posters, pamphlets, books, and manuals.
Long Term Plans
- Establishment of Placement and Counseling Cell: Set up a dedicated cell within the college premises to aid with placement and counseling.
- Quality Management of Academic Activities: Ensure ongoing quality management of academic activities via a robust administrative and academic monitoring system.
- Digitalization of Activities: Adopt digital platforms for all academic and administrative activities, including monitoring and evaluation. This includes the development and operation of a Comprehensive Academic Management Solution (CAMS).
- Infrastructure Replacement: Regular replacement and updating of academic infrastructure, including office equipment, lab equipment, chemicals, and library books.
- Land Acquisition: Purchase land to further expand the institute's reach.
- Building Construction: Initiate the design, estimation, and construction of new buildings for the organization.
At Hurdri, we are continually striving for quality management in academic program performance. Through our mission, vision, objectives, and long-term plans, we aim to play a pivotal role in Nepal's education and public health sectors.
Courses Offered:
For the Lab Assistant academic program, Hurdri invites applications from enthusiastic learners who are eager to contribute to the health sector. The total intake capacity is 40 students, with 38 seats allocated to full-fee-paying students and 2 seats reserved for scholarships across all our academic programs.
Scholarship Details
At Hurdri, we believe in providing equal opportunities to every aspiring individual. Hence, we offer scholarship opportunities under two categories: the General Group and the Target Class Group.
General Group
This category welcomes applications from Nepali citizens who have passed their SEE from a community/government school in Nepal. This group is designed to promote educational progression among students from various government and community schools in the country.
Target Class Group
The Target Class Group is a special category aimed at empowering the underprivileged sections of society and fostering diversity in our institute. Nepali citizens who have passed their SEE from a community/government school and who fall under any of the following categories are encouraged to apply:
- Women
- Adivasi Janajati
- Madhesi
- Dalit
- Individuals with disabilities
- Residents of backward and remote areas
- Victims of People's Movement/Madhesh Movement/People's War/Conflict Victims/Disappeared Persons Martyrs' Families and Injured or Their Families
- Muslim community members
- Former Kamaiya/Haliya
- Citizens belonging to economically or socially disadvantaged categories
