Admission Guidelines

For Bachelor of Public Health (BPH):

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) program at Central Institute of Science and Technology College (CIST College), prospective students must meet the following criteria:

1. Educational Background:

   • Completion of 10+2 Science (Biology stream) or PCL Science (Biology Stream) or PCL/Diploma in Health Sciences (any stream).
   • Alternatively, an equivalent degree recognized by Pokhara University is also acceptable.

2. Minimum Marks:

   • Applicants must have a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in their previous academic qualification.

OR

3. Grading System:
   • For applicants with a CGPA grading system, a minimum of 2.4 CGPA in aggregate is required.
   • Additionally, a minimum grade of C+ in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB), and a minimum grade of C in other subjects is necessary.

For Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm):

Prospective students seeking admission to the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) program at CIST College must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

1. Educational Background:

   • Completion of 10+2 Science (Biology stream) or PCL Science (Biology Stream) or Diploma in Pharmacy.
   • Alternatively, an equivalent degree recognized by Pokhara University is also acceptable.

   • Moreover, a minimum grade of C+ in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB), and a minimum grade of C in other subjects is necessary.

For Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Clinical Pharmacy:

For admission to the Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) program in Clinical Pharmacy at CIST College, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Educational Background:

   • Possession of a B.Pharm degree or an equivalent degree recognized by Pokhara University.

2. Minimum CGPA/Percentage:

   • Candidates must have a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4 scale or its equivalent relative conversion in case of other grading systems.
   • Alternatively, a minimum of 55% in the percentage system is acceptable.

Prospective students who meet the above criteria are eligible to apply for admission to the Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) program in Clinical Pharmacy at CIST College.

Scholarship Information:

1. Full Academic Scholarship:

   • From its inception, CIST College has been providing full academic scholarships to students in accordance with the government rules and regulations.
   • These scholarships are awarded based on the policies set by the government.
   • The specific criteria and selection process for these scholarships are determined by the Ministry of Education and Pokhara University.
   • The college awards these scholarships to 10% of the enrolled students, who are nominated by the Ministry of Education or Pokhara University.

2. Cash Prize for Highest Scores:

   • CIST College acknowledges and rewards academic excellence by offering a cash prize to students who achieve the highest scores in the university examinations.
   • A cash prize of Rs. 15,000.00 is provided to the top-scoring students in each semester for both the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) programs.
   • If there are multiple students with equal scores, the cash prize is equally divided among them.
