Overview
Birat Medical College (BMC) was established in 1992 Ad as an institute under Kathmandu University. It is located in Tankisinwari, Biratnagar, Morang district of Nepal. It has on site a specialized campus dedicated to the education and preparation of Medical Health professionals with strong commitment to further workforce development and continuing education. Birat Medical College, spread over 22 bigha (over 33 acres) of land, comprises of state-of-art academic and research facilities, consisting of spacious and well equipped laboratories, dissection halls, museums with large number of specimens, library etc. The campus also encompasses student dormitories, athletic venues, university's administrative offices and an upcoming on-site Teaching Hospital.
Basic Science Building: It houses the department of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Community Medicine and Pharmacology. Each department has provision for - Head of Department and Faculty Rooms, Laboratory with Preparation Room, Demonstration Room, Museum, Departmental Library, and Practical Hall.
Administration Building: It includes space for - General Administration, Finance Division, Planning Division, Examination Division and Meeting Hall.
Hostel: Birat Medical College has an onsite hostel with current capacity to accommodate 120 students. Our batch of students can expect - Fully furnished rooms, 24 hour supply of Electricity, Internet and 24 hour present technician, Common recreational room, Canteen and Laundry Service.
Central Library: In a time of rapid change, BMC Library will stand at the center of intellectual life on campus. With world-class collections and services — print, online, and in person — our Library serves as an indispensable partner in study, teaching, and research at the campus. It features - Free Internet (Wired and Wi-Fi), Free Access to Hinari, Separate faculty room, Photocopy facility and Accommodates over 150 students at one time.
