Ayurveda Campus stands as a premier institution in Nepal, serving as the sole center for higher education in Ayurveda. Established in 1972 AD through the merger of the Government of Nepal's Ayurved Vidyalaya and Chikitsalaya with the Institute of Medicine, Ayurveda Campus has a rich history rooted in the country's pursuit of technical education. The pioneering Rajakiya Ayurveda Vidhyalaya laid the foundation for technical education in 1993 BS, paving the way for future advancements.

The admissions for Bachelor and Certificate programs faced interruptions in 1991 and 1993 but were successfully restarted in 1996, enabling aspiring students to embark on their Ayurveda journey.

Comprehensive Education and Programs

Ayurveda Campus offers a comprehensive 5.5-year course that admits 40 students annually. This immersive program comprises three professional courses of 18 months each, accompanied by a one-year internship. In addition, the campus also runs the M.D. (Kayachikitsa) program, furthering specialization in the field of Ayurveda. By providing a well-rounded education, Ayurveda Campus equips its students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the practice of Ayurveda.

Application / Admission Procedure: Bachelor in BAMS

  1. Eligibility Criteria:

    • Students who have completed Higher Secondary Education (10+2 or equivalent) degree in Science with biology and AHA.
  2. Application Form:

    • The application form for BAMS is available on our online website (http://iom.edu.np/) or can be obtained from our Admission Office.
    • Applicants are required to submit all the required documents along with the application form.
  3. Required Documents for BAMS Application:

    • 10+2 certificates or equivalent degree certificates and mark sheets.
    • Migration certificate.
    • Character certificate.
  4. Application Timeline:

    • The application form for BAMS is available in the month of Shrawan.
  5. Scholarships:

    • Qualified students with financial need are awarded scholarships according to the guidelines of the Medical Commission.
    • The Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (ACORAB), in collaboration with our college, also offers scholarships for students interested in pursuing a career in Ayurveda. The availability of these scholarships depends on the number of seats.
  6. Entrance Examination:

    • After submitting the application form, students are required to take an entrance examination for qualification.
    • Details about the entrance examination will be provided at the time of form submission.
    • Sample test papers for the entrance examination can be obtained from the College Reception.
  7. Waiting Period:

    • The Medical Commission will inform the applicants about the results of the entrance examination within a few weeks.
  8. Confirmation of Admission:

    • After the results are announced, applicants are requested to confirm their names with the admission office.
    • However, to secure a seat in the BAMS program, the payment of the required fees (will be notified by the college after results) is necessary.

BAMS, which stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, is an undergraduate degree program that focuses on integrating modern medical science with traditional medicine, specifically Ayurveda. The course duration is 5.5 years, including internships. MD Kayachikitsa

It addresses conditions such as fever, rakta-pitta (bleeding disorders), shotha (edema), prameha (metabolic disorders), and more. The Department of Kayachikitsa provides undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, training, and research opportunities in theory, practical application, and research on various diseases using Ayurvedic principles of treatment and therapy, including Panchakarma (detoxification), Rasayana (rejuvenation), and Vajikarana (aphrodisiac therapy).

The MD Kayachikitsa program is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and expertise in Ayurvedic internal medicine. The curriculum typically spans several years and includes specific papers that cover various aspects of the discipline.
