The Lumbini Province Government has announced a budget of Rs. 42.63 billion for the Fiscal Year 2079/80. In today's meeting of the Provincial Assembly, Minister for Economic Affairs and Cooperatives Krishna Dhwaj Khadka presented a budget of Rs. 13.32 billion for current expenditure and Rs. 24.47 billion for capital.
Minister Khadka said that the budget has been prepared by giving priority to agriculture, health, education and physical infrastructure to realize the dream of a self-reliant province. Rs. 4.83 billion has been allocated for local level financial transfer through financial equalization grant, supplementary grant, conditional grant and special grant. The share of financial transfer in the total budget is proposed to be 11.33 percent.
