PhD Admission at Tribhuvan University TU

Applications are now open for admission to the Ph.D. level under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (for those who have completed the M.Phil level) for the session starting in Magh, 2081. Eligible candidates are informed to apply as per the details provided. Application forms can be submitted from 2081/08/27 to 2081/09/26, with double fees until 2081/10/03.

Applicants must have passed the M.Phil level with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or Second Division.
Applications can only be submitted for the subject where the M.Phil level was passed.
Applicants must submit copies of all certificates from SLC to M.Phil level and a copy of the citizenship certificate along with the application form. Permanent teachers of TU must submit the certificate of permanent appointment.
Applicants who have passed the M.Phil. from universities other than TU must submit an equivalency certificate for that level. Otherwise, the form will not be accepted.
Applicants must submit a research proposal, a summary of the M.Phil thesis, and three copies of an article they have written (peer-reviewed article with a single author) as per the format prescribed by the Dean's Office. The applicant must be the first author if the published article is co-authored. Articles published in Nepal must be listed in NepJol, have a DOI, and be available online. Articles published in reputable journals outside Nepal must provide evidence of peer review. Articles published in predatory journals will not be accepted. Applicants must also submit a soft copy (word file) of the research proposal, the article, and a scanned copy of the journal cover page and subject index.
Applications that do not comply with the requirements will be automatically canceled, and the faculty will not have any responsibility for this.
Applicants with M.Phil or equivalent degrees who wish to participate in Ph.D. research in subjects other than those mentioned above can apply under the "M.Phil and Ph.D. Program Operation Procedures 2077" and its amendments by consulting with the Dean's Office and the concerned central department.
Once the application is reviewed and approved by this office, the applicant must submit a bank voucher of NPR 15,000 (in words: fifteen thousand only) deposited in account no. 04500100099045000001 at the Kirtipur branch of Nepal Bank Ltd. along with the application. The deposited fee will not be refunded.
