BSc, BTech, BE Programs Admission Open for Academic Year 2024 at Kathmandu University School of Science (KUSOS)
Kathmandu University (KU) calls for applications for admission in Undergraduate Programs in School of Science (SoS) for the academic year 2024. Candidates are required to appear in the entrance exam, in either PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), according to their choice of academic program. A paper-based entrance exam will be conducted in different cities across the country. Admission offer list will be published on merit basis.

***Note: Bioinformatics students have the option to earn a dual degree in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology by completing the necessary additional courses over an extra year.
Students who have already completed grade 11 and 12 (or equivalent) and those awaiting for grade 12 results are eligible to apply.
Eligibility criteria and PBT Test Group for Admission:
- In order to be fully eligible for admission, Candidates must have passed 10+2 level (or equivalent) with a minimum aggregate GPA of 2.0 (aggregate 50% in percentage scale)
- Candidates must have appeared in the entrance exam conducted by the School of Science, Kathmandu University and scored the required threshold as set by the university.
- Students, who have completed 10+2 with PCB and applying for PCM stream, must have taken additional mathematics course and passed it with required cumulative and individual scores.
- Candidates must have same combination of PCM, PMCs or PCB (which ever applies to the candidate) in both grade XI and XII.
Students who have already completed grade 11 and 12 (or equivalent) and those awaiting for grade 12 results are eligible to apply. The latter will be admitted on provisional basis.
- For the purpose of subjects with separate theory and practical components, candidates must satisfy the minimum grade requirement individually in both theory and practical.
- For the courses taken both in grade XI and XII, candidates must score the minimum grade requirement in all the subjects in both grades/years.
- Candidates appearing in entrance exam with PCM test can apply for all programs except in BSc in Agriculture.
- 2.6 Candidates who have completed +2 equivalent GCSE A-Level shall have at least 3 courses at Advanced Level (A level) and 1 in AS level. Course combination PCM or PMCs is applicable as per the specific program. Whenever percentage uniform mark (PUM) criteria are provided, then, aggregate 50% in percentage scale will be applicable. If PUM is not provided Grade D in PCM/PMCs will be applicable. For International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma students must have at least 6 courses including either PCM or PMCs. Course combination of PCM or PMCs is applicable as per the specific program. Student must have final IB grade of 3 in each course with aggregate of 24.
The three advanced level courses required varies for program to program:

- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for B.E. Environmental Engineering
- Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Computer Science for B.Sc. in Computer Science, B.Sc. in Computational Mathematics and Bachelor of Data Science.
- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology for B.Tech. in Biotechnologyand B.Sc. in Environmental Science.
- Physics, Chemistry and Biology for B.Sc. in Agriculture.

- Candidates who have completed +2 equivalents with letter grades shall be submitting the marks equivalent of grades from equivalence authority at the time of admission.
- CTEVT diploma holders (3 years education after SLC/SEE) may apply in the related discipline corresponding to their field of study in the diploma level. Eligibility requirements are same to that of percentage criteria for NEB +2 graduates.
- Candidates with I.Sc. in Agriculture are eligible to apply for B.Sc. in Agriculture. Eligibility requirements are same to that of percentage criteria for NEB +2 graduates.
- In case of dispute related to application, eligibility, entrance exam and final score, decision of admission committee will be final.
Exam Centers
- Entrance exam is conducted in different centers:
- Center 1: Kathmandu
- Center 2: Janakpur
- Center 3: Pokhara
- Center 4: Dhulikhel
- Center 5: Butwal
- Center 6: Mahendranagar
- Center 7: Biratnagar
Students can choose any one exam center as per his/her convenience. Candidates are not allowed to change centers after the application deadline.
