Kathmandu University (KU) calls for applications for admission in Undergraduate Programs in the School of Science (SoS) for the academic year 2022/2023. Candidates are required to appear in the entrance exam, in either PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), according to their choice of the academic program. A paper-based entrance exam will be conducted in different cities across the country. The admission offer list will be published on a merit basis.

Eligibility criteria for the entrance exam and admission:

Program and Subject Area Who can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
  • B.Tech. (Environmental Engineering)

Test Group: PCM
  • Must have taken PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) in both XI and XII (or equivalent)
  • A minimum grade of C individually in each subject.
                                                        OR
  • If the student has been evaluated in a percentage system, a minimum of 50% in aggregate in PCM and a minimum of 50% in total aggregate.
  • B.Sc. (Computer Science)
  • B.Sc. (Computational Mathematics)

Test Group: PCM
  • Must have taken PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) or PMCs (Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science) in both XI and XII (or equivalent)
  • A minimum grade of C individually in each subject.
                                                        OR
  • If the student has been evaluated in a percentage system, a minimum of 50% in aggregate in PCM or PMCs and a minimum of 50% in total aggregate.
  • B.Tech. (Biotechnology)
  • B.Sc. (Bioinformatics)
  • B.Sc. (Environmental Science)

Test Group: PCM or PCB
  • Must have taken PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) in both XI and XII (or equivalent)
  • A minimum grade of C individually in each subject.
                                                         OR
  • If the student has been evaluated in a percentage system, a minimum of 50% in aggregate in PCM or PCB and a minimum 50% in total aggregate.
  • B.Sc. (Agriculture)

Test Group: PCB
  • Must have taken PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) in both XI and XII (or equivalent)
  • A minimum grade of C individually in each subject.
                                                         OR
  • If the student has been evaluated in a percentage system, a minimum of 50% in aggregate in PCB and a minimum of 50% in total aggregate.

Online registration starts on 21 August 2022 and ends on 10 September 2022. Students who have already completed grades 11 and 12 (or equivalent) and those awaiting for grade 12 results are eligible to apply.

Application processing fee of NRs 1500/- is to be deposited through Bank or digital wallet (eSewa).
